What Fun
Yeah, restful day, had to disconnect the dishwasher cause it has been recalled. Apparently the Motor or heating coil can catch fire...Yikes! Just climbed back into bed when my father-in-law called and pointed me to the paper where they printed the recall stuff.
Had to call a 1-800 # to find out if the model of dishwasher was recalled, and it was, so next week Sears is to come by and replace the motor & coil. Back to washing by hand, which is not a problem except that for some reason I always slosh larges amount of water on the counter/floor/self....

Happy Post Easter
Hi all,
hope everyone had a great easter and you haven't overstuffed on chocolate bunnies.
We are getting better, Roanna caught some bug going around, and I got a tiny bit of it as well, so Thursday & Friday were fits of coughing between sleeping in bed.
Saturday we went to Richard & Kims for the final March Birthday celebration, and we played "name that tune", which was quite hard, there were 5 couples, so it was pretty fun.
Other than that, still no word from immigration, cats are fine, and the weather is warm(ish).
Keep safe.

Got The Sniffles (Again)
Hi all,
Well again not much happening here, we are both keeping it quiet, since Roanna brought home some bug and now I have caught it. It is not to bad this time, sore throat, sore back and a few other aches. An excuse to lay in bed all day (horay).
Nice supprise this morning since one of the kitties peed on the little rug in the basement (we think it is Maxine), but not to much of a problem, washed the rug and sprayed some nutralizer stuff on the cement, must be that time of the month when they are in heat. Maxine has been a bit hyper for the last couple of days.
This Friday is a holiday, I was going to try to get a kite and fly it, but if it is still snowing, I don't think I will. We are invited over to Jeff & Trish's house for early afternoon, should be fun.
Other than that, again it pretty quiet, hope it is for you as well.

Finally Updated
Hi all,
Well I have finally updated since I was having trouble logging on, and since there was not much happening each day.
Happy belated St. Patricks Day!! We had some friends over and had pizza, and green beer. The only thing strange to happen that day was I brought pepperoni at the deli at superstore (and a few other pizza toppings), I got lots of it sliced, and the protective wrapping was not removed at the deli. Nor was it removed by me, so it was like you pizza had it's own build in dental floss. Other than that it was good pizza, and a fun night.
I have been reading the Royal Gazette about the kidnapping and then fire bombing of the supposed house were the boys were held. Pretty scary!
The kitty's are fine, the weather is cold, and today we are hosting the birthday party's for Madaline and Richard (Roanna's Mom and brother).
Menu is a nice Ragu (saw it on Caio America hosted by Mario), Ceaser Salad and Cake. I will let you know how it turns out.
Lastly this week I have been playing Halo 2 with a group of "geezer gamers", a group of 30 and upward game players, it has been quite fun (and pretty non-abusive).
Have a great weekend everyone.
10:40 a.m.
Okay had breakfast, mmmmm McGriddles....
Here we are in the computer room, all cats and Roanna, I think I mentioned this before, but it is funny. Everytime poor Maxine finds a place to chill out during her busy cat schedual, along comes Jenny and takes over. This usually takes quite a few weeks (I guess Maxin must become comfortable in the spot). Today Maxine has lost her looking out the window spot, a nice green chair that is near the window in the computer room, where Maxine (now Jenny) sits and looks out the window. Poor girl.

Monday & Tuesday Update
For whatever reason I could not get to my dashboard to blog on Monday, Not much happened anyway.... A bit more snow, a walk to the store, grocery shopping...TV watching... the usual.
Tuesday
Up at about 10ish, for coffee and donuts (crispy creams mmm mmmm), looking to tidy up and exercise a bit. It is a bit colder this week, but it is not bad.
The cats have settled down a bit, on the weekend with the wind blowing (you could hear the condo creak a bit) the cats were a bit "wide eyed", but they have settled down now.
Other than that, not much, I'm gonna update if anything exciting happens.

I Don't Know About You...But I'm All "Funned" Out
Ah, the morning after, a couple of parties to attend and now the recovery phase. Well I actually drove so I did not have much to drink, like two beers in 6 hours.
Went to Kim's B'day for a bit, then went to Tyna's B'day at a pool hall, met lots of people, and had a good time everywhere.
In the wee hours it snowed and there is at least 2 inches everywhere, and it is not that cold. Today a bit of tidying up, play with the cats and to Rip's pub for a quite afternoon & 15 cent wings.
Gotta scan the news papers cause last night they had an overpass (crowchild trail) blocked off with police cars (going to Tyna's party) Coming back a few hours later they had it blocked off with lots of police crime scene tape every where....hmmmm hopefully now one was injured (or killed).
other than that, hope your weekend was fun.

Somebody Turned On The Snow Machine
Yep, its a smattering of snow this weekend.
Last night we were supposed to go the the hockey game, but it was sold out. So we had dinner with Mark and April at Big T's Bar-B-Q, mmmm it was good.
Then we went to Tyna's birthday party at Sticks to find out that it is tonight!! That's what happens when you talk to me when I am just waking up!!
We came home pretty early, after a supposed big night out, but it was fun anyway, and I got to play Halo 2 for a few hours (and leveled up).
Still a bit groggy right now and after three cups of coffee, a bit jittery.
On a random note: I see back in Bermuda that Triminghams closed, that is like three stores in the last year. I really liked shopping in thier kitchen dept. ah well.
Lastly here is a site were they make pretty cool toys, I want a Gir robot, 'cause you can't rule the world with out a Gir robot. I have been trying to put this link up for a couple of days but kept having problems.

Wow,
Lots of Birthdays in coming and just gone (6 so far). We are off tonight to celebrate two, then one tomorrow. Then the following weekend.
Again, aside from that I think it will be pretty quiet. Chugging away on the exercycle, and watching the boob tube.
Hopefull some exciting news this weekend.. will let you know.

Ian The Butler
Well the house is clean, though I did not have my usual tux on while cleaning up.
Not much today, finally got my brewed coffee this morning, feel a bit chipper now. Yesterday I printed off a monthly sheet so I can fill in the times and distances when I am on the cycle. Not much else today.
I finally read yesterday's paper and a few pages were on that Asian Bird flu, seems like it could be pretty bad...... at least that is the way they are saying it.
Let's see.... Beef is mad, Chicken has the flu, Salmon has the contaminants from being farm raised.... Well it may be time to go vegitarian!!
Ah well, every one keep safe!

Where Has The Week Gone
Here we are at Humpday (for those who work), man the week has gone by pretty quickly. The car has been serviced today, so it is running well again and they even gave it a exterior wash. I was looking at the new Moranno (a Nissan SUV), quite a sweet looking vehicle. ah well, maybe one day soon, gotta get a house first, I think they frown upon people living out of the cars in Calgary.....plus there would not be room for the TV and surround sound equipment.
Anyhoo, finally got coffee, so I can brew a nice cup of Sumatra tommorow, makes me miss the old Rock Island days.
Not much else to report on, though been getting the itch to learn how to smoke beef brisket, we can have a Bar-B-Q on the balcony, so I think we may look out for an inexpensive but usable BBQ sometime in the future. It is supposed to snow this weekend (flurrys) so there is no race yet to get one.
We will just have to go to Big T's a really nice Bar-B-Q restaurant. *smak* *smak*

**YAWN***
Well its 1230 tuesday morning right now, I have been on the computer for a bit until I am tired. Since Roanna has to go to work in the morning I don't like to toss and turn and keep her up. I guess that it is working since I have started to yawn in the last few minutes.
Anyhoo, a quiet evening in, had soup, salad and garlic bread for dinner, and watched Kill Bill Vol 2.
I think I will exercise early then wonder down to starbucks for some coffee and reading, pick up some items at the superstore for dinner, and get that ready for the evening.
Tonight I get the bottles ready to take to the recyle plant and tidy up the garage.... anyhow goodnight.
920p.m.: Well had dinner and watch a movie, the first Harry Potter, watching in suround sound is so cool.
Good news is that I checked the mail box and got my renewal for my visa, so I can stay in the country for another 6 months. Bad news in reading the fine print, is that I am not allowed to work (knew that), and not allowed to take any educational courses (did not know that). ah well!
It was a bit worrying since I only had until Friday before my initial visa ran out, they processed it quite quickly, so hopefully this works when they are processing the P.R. card (though I am not holding my breath).
Pizza for dinner, made on the pizza stones I got for christmas, I keep forgetting to get a peel, maybe tomorrow. I got car stuff in the morning, but maybe I will do it while i am waiting for the car to be serviced.
Cats are fine, and are enjoying the good weather we are having (still).

Feeling Kinda Furry
Well just finished watching Stargate SG-1, and decided to brush Jenny, now I am completely covered from head to knees in loose white cat hairs. It is getting closer to spring, and both cats seem to be shedding a lot more now **Yay**, we are going to have to get lots of refills for those tape brushes that we got for Christmas.
Just charged up the Rhomba, and gonna change and go down to the basement to do some exercise.
Other than that, it is a pretty quiet day, and still pretty sunny.
2:51pm Well 10 K on the bike and it did not fall apart (first time riding it since it was assembled), and thankfully niether did I. Looking forward to getting in some regular exercise now.
Just gotta keep an eye out for some computer speakers to plug in the MP3 player downstairs, or I can keep using the ear plugs, there is no race (or money!).

Sunday In
After a nice long walk yesterday in the sun (to deliver some mail), we both took advantage of the weather and walked around the neighbourhoods looking at houses and stuff.
I had a short sleve shirt on to grab some of that free Vitiman D.
Then down to the store for some grocery shopping, and for what ever reason, immediatley was in a dark funk.
So we watch the Pink Panther Strikes Again movie, for a good laugh, then the Kill Bill Vol. 1 since we were in high spirits.
Roanna has gone for a walk with her mom at Glenmore, and I'm off to bed to read a bit.

Spring time is early
Well they are saying that spring time is almost here. It has been really sunny all week and i'm told that there is spring snow on the mountains as well (I have no idea what that is).
The cats want out on the balcony more which is good, and it is really warm when you are outside now. I am looking forward to when they get all the gravel off of the roads.
Another quiet weekend, with not much planned, Roanna has had a busy week so I think she is looking forward to a couple of days off.
We are off for a walk to deliver some mail, and no news on any immigration or visa extensions yet.
I assume that the news about the 4 RCMP officers getting killed has gone outside of Canada, its been in the papers for the last couple of days, hard to belived that one of the officers had been a RCMP for 17 days. Very sad. Apparently these "grow ops" are moving from the cities to the country because of police cracking down. If it isn't the marijuana grow houses, it's some Meths lab in some ones basement with lots of bad & highly flamable chemicals stored in the garage.
It would be nice for those criminals who kill everyone around them & then commit suicide to not get caught and punished just skip the killing and go stright to the suicide. ah well.

I Have A Case Of CIL
yet the dreaded CIL
or as we call it cat in lap, so here I sit at the computer typing with one hand keeping maxine amused with the other hand, sounds like something else....
Been a really quiet week with not alot happening, though on the plus side my neck is feeling great now, I think I really pulled it quite bad snowboarding.
Our neighbour came back from her vacation yesterday, we were looking after her house for the last two weeks, she brought us back some mexican coffee and some organic liquid vanilla, it smells so great I don't know if I want to cook with it or wear it as a cologne.
Yesterday the bike was assembled and looks pretty good. So now comes the time to use it...

Some Assembly Required.....
Well got the bike yesterday, safely I might add, and even better it was 20 bucks cheaper than a week ago.
Also finally got a cast iron pan & grill, I had the house full of smoke in the afternoon and evening curing the pans and then cooking asparagus, onions and steaks on the grill. Good thing the cats are built low to the ground, it was a bit smoky for some time.
The bike is in the basment and now I am going to attempt to put it together.....correctly. Wish me luck!
Roanna sent me a cute site I will place a link hoopsandyoyo.com Really cute and fun.

Duck Your Head When You Drive
Well, great news in the last week, lots of gang gunplay, in parking lots, restaurant, nightclubs and on the roads. People keep getting caught in between or around rival gangs gun battles. Police promise to crack down on gangs.
Its Bermuda 2003 / 2004 all over again!
Got the car today, so gonna go down to Superstore and finally get that exercise bike, plus a few other things that we are low on.
Must remember to keep low... weave lots on the road, and not to flash any gang signs.
On an odd note... I was scanning through the eblog members when I first open this up, and I came across a Grant Neufeld (Neufeld being roanna's maiden name), he was a political activist or some such bru-ha-ha.
Well anyway, picked up a Fast Forward (a free enterainment magazine) yesterday, trying to find an entertainment venue (for a birthday party). And I am looking at this picture of a bunch of Calgary political activists setting up a rally,or party, or bakesale ....or something.... Anyway I am like, that guy seems familiar... read down a bit and it is of course Grant Neufeld... Wierd!
and of course Gwen Steffani has the same birthday as me!!
Now where did I put my bullet proof vest?

The HOT Saga continues....
Pretty uneventful day (read: did nothing productive all day).
Roanna comes home in the evening and we decide to get some Chinese food. All excellent dishes, ordered a beef in Satay sauce (marked by a little red pepper meaning Hot). Somewhat knowing how hot a Satay sauce is, I asked for it really hot. We also ordered Singapore noodles which is also marked with the little red pepper.
So we get the food dish it up and have dinner in front of the boob tube. We both try the Beef dish (after I warn Roanna the the beef is extra spicy!) and it turns out the singapore noodles are spicier than the Beef satay, what makes this even funnier is that they even wrote HOT on the lid of the container of the Beef.
I think I finally have cracked the Canadian code of spicy food.... Hot = hot sauce, other than that normally spicy ethnic foods are pretty mild.
This really tickles my funny bone, cause on the comedy channel (the canadian one), they had a Latin comedian talking about spicy foods and the inability of white people to "take the heat".
"Whoa man, what's in that salsa, onions?...Man that is spicy!!"
Aside from that, got the new download for Star Wars Battlefront (Xbox game), pretty cool.
Maxine was extra sqeaky today, what a bizzare cat!
