Sunday Afternoon

Hi all,
been a quiet week AGAIN!!!
the weather has cooled down a bit, which is pretty good, no more sweating at night, I did miss the air conditioning we installed in the apt back in Bermuda last week.
Work has been up and down, couple of days of easy moving, then 1 day of everything has to be shifted here and there. Actually we have put up christmas stuff already, and apparentely there is loads more on it's way. On the plus side, this happens to be a lot lighter than the 200 pound boxes of desks, and the 300 pound pool tables we have to move.....
Aside from that, today we went to brunch at the inlaws, Roanna made some tastey pastry wrapped pepperoni, with a little bit of chedder cheese on top. We sat out in the garden and had lunch, then went off to Shuckalucks, a bar that was doing a cancer fundraiser. Richard, Roanna's brother raise over 600 bucks to have his head shaved, plus there were auctions and silent bids on other donated prizes. Last year they raised over 16000 bucks. Hopefully they do as well this year.
Roanna and I left early, I found it quite strange that at a cancer fund raiser, I swear that 90 % of the people in the room smoked......... I guess they were "investing their money" for the future.

Aside from that, I am looking for a new job, elsewhere, possible closer, or something that is a bit more "satisfying" than Costco. Roanna is doing well, not only did she get a raise at the begining of the month (she asked for it) her boss gave the staff a bonus since they did well in 2005. So far I have been given grief and extra days....... Costco did a hire last month, so far out of 5 new people I have seen come into the company, 4 have gone. This is with the new pay scale as well, ah well.......

Lets see, I may have mentioned this, but Maxine is doing very well, better than we expected, though she has become very needy at times, almost as much as Jenny when she was here.

Anywho, everyone have a good week,

Ian

Monday afternoon

Hi all,
as usuall same old stuff has been happening. Not to much to tell, it has been hot as heck for the weekend, and it is supposed to be continuing until mid week. Yesterday Roanna & I went out for lunch, and did a bit of shopping, sweating all the way. We came home and put BOTH fans aimed at the bed and laid out for and hour. As long as you didn't move you felt some what coolish. The saving grace was the thunder storm that passed over us for about an hour and a half. The temperature dropped by quite a bit. Unfortunately we had left the moon roof on the car slighty open, so I had to run out and close it. Luckily the car was not to wet on the inside!!
I guess the only bright spot is that if we were back home with this heat PLUS humidity, it would have felt like a sauna.
Not much else for news with us, a two Sundays ago, we went to IKEA to pick up some furniture, everything was needed, and we have some extra storage space to out things. I kind of envision in the future when we get a house a room with a door labeled "THINGS" just alotta stuff that collects in there.....

Anyhoo, I hope that everyone is doing well,
take care

Sunday Afternoon

Hi all,

Well this week has been a bit busier than the last one, Roanna & I went to the Stampede on Tuesday (she got a day off from her company). So we wandered around, visited the animals, brought stuff, ate Carney food (corndogs!!) and I actually did one ride. A sling shot bungie thingy, it was pretty cool, and you could see VERY far when you were at the highest bounce. Any who enjoy the pictures.

A Llama and her Momma.

In position and ready for launch

Panoramic of the boardwalk.

We are off to the In-laws for a dinner later tonight, I hope that everyone has / had a great weekend.

Thursday Night

Hi all,
Not much going on right now, back into the work, home, sleep routine, oh well I might as well add getting eatin alive by mosquitoes walkin to and from work. I probalby look like some one practicing martial arts while walking in the morning, as I am swinging my hands around my head like a madman for about 2o minutes. The inital part of the walk is not so bad, though once I cross Blackfoot Trail, the war is on and they come out in the hundreds.
The news says that it should be a couple of more weeks then they will die off, it is pretty bad right now, the worse they have seen in a few years.
Anyhoo, other than that, Roanna picked up a pass for the local pool, and is doing swiming and exercising at the pool. I'm still doing my walking, with the plan to pick up some swiming or pool exercising as well, though not as much as Roanna, unfortunately I gotta wait for these mosquitoe bites to heal more before I take the plunge.
Next week is Stampede, we plan to go on Tuesday, though we may opt out of the pay events this year, they wait about 20 to 30 bucks each to watch the rodeo shows, plus they have broken the shows up to an afternoon and evening show, with the evening show being EVEN more expensive. There is still lots to do, and alot of free stuff and displays on, so I'll post anything interesting that I take a picture of.
Hi to all who read me, sorry about the long delay in posting, just notthing interesting to show for the last few days

Cheers, Ian

Canada Part II

Hi all,
well now it is Sunday early evening, we have been on the balcony, listening to George Carlin and Bob Marley (the Legends album), relaxing .......ok drinking. Saturday night we spent a few hours at Trish & Jeffs for Canada day, which was really nice, Jeff spent the later part of friday night painting a 7 foot beaver on a piece of press board. Driving back we actuall saw 1 fire work blow into the air. And that was it!!!!
Stampede starts in a week so there will be PLENTY of fire works at 11 pm every night.
Roanna has tomorrow off, I'm off to work, but when I get back, we will probably put off that long due spring cleaning...... maybe.

Any hoo, take care

Canada Day Part I

Hi all,
well Canada day is about 3/4 of the way through right now, we just got home from Millarville, after a disasterous day of horse betting. I refused to bet after last year, and Roanna came out at -6 bucks..... Fun was had anyway, the weather turned for a bit of the worse towards the 4th race so we high tailed it out of there.
Now we have showered up and are off to Trish & Jeffs for a BBQ dinner (bring your own meat!) so we are gonna pick up a package of hot dogs and take them with us. The forcast says is may thuderstorm later in the night, which is good since we are supposed to have the BBQ in teh back yard.

Any who, here are couple of afternoon pictures, you should be able to see Roanna.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Ian
