Chilly Wednesday
Hi all,
the temperature has risen a bit, and tell you what -12 feels like a sunny day compared to -40. After a couple of days off and sleeping with the wrist braces, my hands feel alot better, gonna go to work tomorrow and figure out what I need to do, I will have to fill out some paperwork, and then talk to the manager, I have to bring in a fitness evaluation form, and so far I guess I can't do that until I have been tested. The doctor hasn't called back from the clinic to schedual the nerve induction test, unfortunately the way the health care system is overloaded up here it may be a few more weeks.....
Roanna is doing fine, and so is Maxine, next week we start the holiday season, Christmas party at the in-laws, then the following week to Banff for Roanna's job Christmas party.
Hopefully the roads stay open, since we plan to drive to Saskatoon and visit the Grandparents for a week or so. That'll be around the first week of January.
Anyhoo, just a dropping a line to tell you we haven't frozen ourselves yet.

Really Coldonion
Hi all,
well with wind chill factored in, yesterday was a chilly - 40 C. Everyone is looking forward to the warmness that - 4C is spposed to be on Thursday!!!!
Luckily, we put the winter tires on 3 weeks ago, so driving is not to bad, intersections are like ice rinks right now!!
Yesterday was a check up for Roanna who is doing well, we got to hear the heartbeat again, met one of the possible docyors who may be at the birth (at this clinic, they have four doctors who do the visits, but when the time comes for birth who ever is on call shows up.)
lets see, a bit of bad news on my tire shop job, apparently with th week of training i did, apparently has not been good for my hands. been to the clinic twice, and the doctors think it is carple tunnel syndrome. currently i am on a anti-inflamitory medication, and just picked up a couple of hand splints to wear at night. Last night was the first good night of sleep in a few days. The pain was so bad sunday night I thought I was having a heart attack for a while, pain from my finger tips right up to my chest. So yesterday i called in sick, then spent an hour at the clinic, on a sidenote the doctor i saw, an englishman, worked at King Edwards back in Bermuda way back in 1982. We spent about 20 minutes talking about Bermuda.
So now I am supposed to take a nerve induction test, this is to see if it is actual nerve or tendon damage, next week I also take a blood test, so they can see wat my B12 level and a few other things are.
I just got my benefits, which start on December 1st, and already I am gonna have to use them, hopefully I can claim back on the stuff right now, so far I have spend about 110 bucks on visits, meds and the splints, I haven't got my health card yet, so I am hoping it is in the mail....
Let's see what else, my computer power supply blew up on Saturday, hopefully, no damage to any other components. hopefully, it will be okay, i plan to pop over to a computer store tonight and get a new one.
Well enough of the update, it is pretty tough to type one handed, take care everyone.

As Promised
Well, today has been coming to a close, and like most people in Calgary, we have been spending our bi-monthly pay check monies..... (honestly everything was needed!!!!!!)
As usual, I had finally went to Wal-Mart to get a pair of jeans, (believe it or not, these jeans are less than the third of the price of a pair from a Mall store and last about 10 times as long). Any hoo I buy a pair, because I misplaced a pair of blue jeans, and my black pair tore. Guess what Roanna finds in the closet no less than 10 minutes after we get home.....
so at least I am back to 3 pair vs 1 pair.
Any who here are the pics
I think the top one is a cross section of the head.
the next is the ol' kid curled up, didn't want to move from that position either.. with out further ado.
Any how, have a great weekend.

Friday Evening
Hi all, it has been a while since I have updated. So I will get straight to the news, today was the 18th week ultrasound for Roanna. Everything is fine, watching the baby, hands and arms was very heartwarming. We got to see the arms and legs and everything else, the baby was a bit uncooperative, and refused to flip over, so Roanna has to go back next week, for hopefully a quick check on the other side of the Heart, apparently when they do the ultrasound, there are a certain parts of the baby they need to view.
That was my first ultraound, unfortunate I never knew you could actually see the bones live on screen, I don't know why, but I never thought of that. It actually was a bit scary, when you see the actual skull of the baby.... though I got over it pretty quickly.
Roanna's Mom joined us towards the end, they only let in one person with the Mom, so she joined us after the required photos were taken.
We have the pictures, and tomorrow, I will try to upload a few on the blog, I will try to play with them to make them a bit better than the last time.
Anyhoo, everyone is fine, the weather is quite warm, and is looking to be good for a week, which is just great since we just picked up a load of wood for the fireplace.
Oh, and I picked up full time at Costco, I have moved into the tire shop after giving it a shot, I will be cross training for a couple of weeks, then move in in December.
Take care
