Monday Morning

Hi all,
We just got back from the appointment, Roanna is still sounding bad, but feeling a little better now.
We went in for the ultrasound, so the measurements could be sent to her doctors. Everything is fine, apparently at week 37, Roanna is measuring at week 38.
We got to see the kid doing stuff, moving around etc. Got to see the heart going along at 157 beats per minute, the stomache and the bladder (woo, exciting) No pics for us though, so can't show anything.
Got to see the eyes, and a chubby cheek (the face cheek not the other cheek), and we got to see the baby practicing breathing, which was pretty cool.

Asside from that, it was a quick in and out for us. The baby is between 6 1/2 lbs to 7 lbs right now.

I am feeling better though still hacking up from time to time, apparently the whole apt block, someone is hacking away on each floor.
The weather is chilly but sunny right now, though tonight is supposed to get colder and we are expecting snow again, this morning it was pretty foggy and chilly, though right now it is looking a bit better, I am gonna go run the car to the car wash and get it sprayed off.

Anyhoo, everyone have a great week.

Saturday Evening

Hi all,

Well the week has gone by very quickly, much of it spent in bed sick...
Wednesday was the first day I was out of the apt. I took the car in for an oil change, aside picked up a few things at the mall and did some shopping.
One of the stores had a special on buying diapers, you got a free sleeper, so I picked up three over the next two days, and picked them up on Friday.
Today, we picked up more baby stuff from April & Mark, so right now the spare room is looking a bit cluttered, just when I got it back into some sort of clean state....
Right now, Roanna has what ever I had last week, though her throat seems to be in worse condition than mine. She lost her voice for a bit this morning, but it feeling a bit better now. Unfortunately she couldn't make it to her Infant CPR course this morning, but hopefully we can credit that to another course in the near future. It was only 40 bucks, but it would be nice to get that back.

Aside from that, we hope to be better by the end of the week, Roanna is going in for an ultrasound on Monday, apparently she is now over her expected measurements, last week she was right on schedual, but apparently she is at week forty right now....musta been the party food...

Well I'll wrap it up right now,

Everyone have a great weekend.

Recovering Now

Hi, all

after a very busy weekend, I of course was immediately placed into bed, suffering from a sorta cold/flu sorta thing. We had that extreme weather change from winter to summer & back to winter over about 4 days. I find I usually catch something then...

Of coure it doesn't help when I refuse to take out my heavier coat and run around in a light coat while it is snowing....

Aside from that, still hacking and coughing.

Saturday went very well, we had Roanna's Mom's 60th Birthday, most of the people we invited came, we had a few unable to come since they were sick and a couple of others who had previous engaements. Though in total I think we had 20 people.

We kicked out Madeline, & decorated the house, set up the games we played, and got the food ready, we were pretty organized and we were even able to go back home and catch a nap.

Everyone played name that tune for a bit, with songs from the 60's & 70's, Richard (Roanna's brother) took care of this, and as a "prize" everyone got a CD that he made with alot of the music on it that was played during the game.

We also played a sixties trivia game, with some prizes for the top team, (we had made some mugs with a photo of one of Madeline's paintings she had given me as a gift.

It turned out pretty well, except the cropped the photo from the bottom, so you couldn't see her signature.

Silly enough though, I forgot to take a picture of the cup, we only had them in the house for, like, 4 weeks.

We also had a jar of jelly beans contest, guess the number, Funny enough the first person who guess the number, won the jar.....

We had a pretty big spread of food, and I got to try out my chaffing dish that Roanna got for me for my birthday.

Crab quiches, cheese quiches, veggie tray, crackers, cheese & meat platters, meatballs, chicken & pinapple kabobs, beef kaboobs, and off the table a big shrimp platter.

Champaigne & cake finished off the night. We ordered a beautiful cake from Cakeworks, a place in Calgary, they were the company we used for our Wedding cake years ago. They are still open, and still delicious.

Madeline putting in the first cut.
Well, like I said, after that I have been in bed since Saturday midnight. Finally starting to feel better, unfortunately Roanna thinks she may have caught whatever I had.....
Talk to everyone later

Monday Morning

Hi all,

Been a busy week, been going through the papers trying to find a job, I postponed my EMR course, and will do it later. I have six months from December to before my 1 day refresher goes out.

Saturday we met up with Curtis & Debs at Red Lobster, had lunch and chatted for a bit about current stuff here, and back home. The big fire at the dump, who was pregnant, who was the Daddy....the usual stuff of a small gossipy comunity.....

Most of the week has been getting ready for the Art show & Roanna's Mom's birthday party this Saturday. Slowly the lists are being crossed off, yesterday we were at Swintons an art store, where Roanna's Mom & friends have an art group, where once a year they put thier art on sale.

Roanna, Sheila, Margret & Madeline. Set up for the art sale.

Roanna's table of stuff.

I ran the little bar for them, since they had wine and other juices available. There were quite a few people who came, Roanna did well and she made a few clams to put into her purse.

Aside from that, we got our BumbleRide on Friday, though not all the ordered extra's. This is the stroller that one of Roanna's work mates brought for us, apparently all his friends he gets these for (or a similar model).

Roanna & the BumbleRide, the rest of the soft stuff is in the bag to her right. We figure if we take it out of the bag, it's gonna get dusty in the next month, so we will finish assembling after the baby is born. We also got a car seat and a cover (either rain or mosquitoe netting, I can't remember which). But they did not come with the BumbleRide.

Lastly, Roanna asked for a pic for everyone so she can show how far along she is.

Five more weeks to go!!
So there you go, a weeks worth of updating in a few paragraphs...
Everyone have a great week,
Ian & Roanna

Sunday Evening

Hi all,

Been a bit of a quick week this week. Roanna is working her butt off in the last month, trying to get things done before she heads out at the end of the month.

Then there are the child CPR classes she signed up for, an art sale to go to, a 60th birthday party to organize and decorate for, then the child birth classes for both of us. Not to mention only about 6 weeks before the "big-day" which possibly can happen anytime during the above mentioned.

We finally got a stroller, well ordered one on the internet, one of Roanna's co-workers buys these types of strollers for his friends, so he said go ahead and get one on him....

So hopefully that will be here by the end of the month as well.

Mind you we ran around to Sears & the Bay yesterday, and one other store, to look at strollers for most of the morning, the stroller we ordered, the company only does internet business, so we could only look at models similar to what we wanted. We eventually decided on a three wheeler type stroller, and the car seat and a few other options, it looks to be pretty sturdy.

Asside from that, today we picked up a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Our dirt devil just didn't pick up as much as it used to, nothing like going over the same spot 3 or four times. The Dyson so far, is really good, and very quiet as well. I ended up getting an extended warrenty, for a 100 bucks, then found out that the company was extending thier warrenties from 2 to 5 years for certain models, ours was one of them. So I went back down to the store, and cancelled the extended plan, since I was paying for something that the company is giving me free.

Since the we will be having a new addition, we figured we might as well have the floors clean as possible...
This one is made for owners of animals, like I said a very nice machine. in the right of the photo you can see the change table we brought as well, so far that will be its place for a while now. I picked up a change pad this week as well as a change pad cover.
In the back of the photo on the wall you can see the black suitcase this is the grab for the hospital suitcase, full of the "suggested things" you are required to bring.
Anyhoo, asside from that, cleaning, tidying up and throwing out empty boxes to make more room so we can stuff more things into closets.
Hope everyone had a great weekend, we missed the lunar eclipse (forgot about it anyhoo) though they didn't say much about it hear, so I don't think we got it at all. Had a great spot to look at it though, seen some nice moonrises (and sunrises walking to work).
Talk to you later.
Ian
