Guess Who's Back?

Winters back, for at least a couple of days!! We have had a great weekend with people outdoors, planting things, motorbikes everywhere, convertables driving up & down the street and like a slap up side the head, winter has sneeked by us and dropped some snow.

Things are still the same right now, we went to the Women's show on the weekend (Roanna got some passes from her job), which was pretty interesting. Got lots and lots of cat food sample packs, and a whole lot of other "free" samples to try, use and taste. Roanna went back with her mum on the second day and picked up some more free stuff.

We were invited over to Mark & April's for some burgers on Sunday, and chatted for a bit, they had some photo's of thier trip to Hawaii, very very nice, some plants there reminded me of Bermuda, though the water is a bit rougher and darker than I like. Pretty cool though.

Went to the dentist on Monday for a "consultation", they give you a pretty good going around in your mouth every 5 years or so, I have to go back for a cleaning next month. But the teeth are very healthy, so no worries.

The cats seemed to have calmed down now, it was probably the early "spring" we had, got them all worked up. Now they are back to loafing around the house.

Anyhoo, not much on the front here, just waiting by the mailbox THE BIG LETTER from immigration. Hope everyone is OK and take care.

News Finally

Hi all,
End of the week and all that. Been pretty bummed since Wednesday, FINALLY got through to immigration. And the good news is ...... The package sits unopened on a desk for 3 to 4 MONTHS. Before it is even OPENED. So the best news out of that is I'm half way there. Other than that the rest of the week has pretty muched drifted by. The weather has been great for going outside, really sunny, today three deer have been wondering through the complex munching on peoples trees. Cyote's have been acting up around the city and they have had to shoot a couple, ah well, its a bit better that really big cockroaches, really don't miss those.

Well everyone have a good weekend.

Morning Suprise!

Got up early this morning to take Roanna to work in the car and move the recycle stuff to the depot. Went to take out the garbage, and saw a deer in the complex, it was pretty cool, ran to tell Roanna and get the camera to take pictures of it, then threw out the trash. It kinda spooked it and it moved over to the next house where there was another deer, so I snapped two more photos of them together. They look so pretty, Roanna saids that they can be a bit distructive in yards eating grass and other things. (Someone actually scared them away eventually), when we were driving out, one was in a yard across from where they were before. Pretty cool.
Things are fine, haven't heard from the immigrations, tried to track my papers on line but no dice, trying to navigate through the call in center automation thing is a horrible task. Hopefully I will try again.
I think we need to go back to the old days where you had the banks of telephone women (or men) at those big consoles with the large headphones and mikes plugging into the switch boards. Nowdays it's either a computer or some one in another country 5000 miles away from you. Well hopefully there is something in the mail today.
The weather is supposed to be really sunny this week, so maybe a wonder around FishCreek, or if I am brave enough, a roller blade.

Hope everyone is okay.

Update

Hi all,

Well the updates keep getting more and more time between them, still waiting to hear from immigration, but will be calling them at the end of the week since that will make two months.
Roanna & I are doing well, and the cats are to, we all are injoying the lovely weather we have been having with lots of sunshine!!
I got a call from my Mom on Sunday, which was pretty cool since I forgot to send her a birthday card, so it was a crash 20 mins of hearing news from the island.
Saturday we had dinner with Trish & Jeff, so we were at their house for the afternoon, they have a small dog and a 10 month old big dog who likes to stick his nose all over the place.
As usually it has been pretty quiet for me, Roanna has to do the dreaded taxes this week, so I am sure she will have fun.
We are flip flopping on holding a Cinco-de-Mayo (spelling?), but we shall be deciding soon. Tonight we are having friends over for pizza, giving the pizza stones a good use, still gotta get a pizza peel, I think I will have to go to the Chinook mall for one, later. Can't find one at the stores in Shawnesy, I should brought the one I had in Bermuda, but it was a bit moldy from not much use. Ah well.
Oh yah, the diswasher was fixed last Tuesday, so we are back to using it and not washing by hand, it's amazing how quickly you get used to having it done by machine.

I hope everyone is alright, and take care.

Hi all

Hi, hope everyone had a quiet weekend. Ours was pretty good, went to see Meet the Fockers with Mark & April on Friday night, and had a few beers at the Bull & Finch (a pub near the theater).

Saturday stayed in and watch a movie at home, also watched the Battlestar Galatica part 1 season finale. Next Sunday will be the final show.

Sunday went for a walk with Roanna and Her mom along the trails for about an hour, we fed some chick-a-dees as well. Lots of people out on the trails riding and walking. Had dinner at the in-laws as well, then came home for a clan match on Halo2 (between firefighters and police), unfortunately not enough police came so we one by default. Roanna was busy watching desperate housewives upstairs.

Anyhoo, not much else, the weather is great, seems like winter is over. Take care.
