Election Monday
Well Canada is voting, with some polls in and the election going the way that people have expected over the last few weeks.
Roanna voted last week, so she doesn't have to face any line ups or crowds today.
I was talking to Roanna, the if the Conservative party gets in, one of the promises was and imediate 1 % reduction off of the GST. which is pretty fine, then it is supposed to be another 1% reduction in a few more years. For Calgary, it isn't that much anyway, or I should say Alberta, since all the provice pays is the GST anyway (7% to be reduced to 6%), other provences pay another 8% PST, years ago some smart cookie in politics decided to payoff the Provincial debt, this makes things a little cheaper when you buy something compared to other provincies.
This week has been pretty quiet, especially since I open up todays blog by talking about politics.....
Saturday we went to Roanna's brothers house and played some texas holdem poker. 10 buck buy in, a couple of hours of play, this week Roanna did better that me, I was second out on my table...... which kinda sucked but what could you do. Started a side game later, with a 5 buck buy in, and was first out on that game.....
Thus ended the career of Ian the poker player I think......
Aside from that, we had some snow on Friday, a few centimeters, but right now the sun is out and blazin' away. This has been a very warm winter so far....
No news yet on the immigration paperwork, but looking at it from a opptimistick viewpoint, I am still in Cananda....
Everyone take care
