Sunday Update
Well, it's been a few days, I am wide awake Sunday morning, so at this point in time I am boiling some chicken. Today we were supposed to have Anne over (our cat's previous owner and our ex-landlord), unfortunately she left a message last night saying she couldn't make it, since she is recovering from the flu. So I am up, and I figure I might as well cook the chicken, and make it anyway, then we will have lunch ready for us later.
So Today is the 15th January, my last day that I am supposed to be in this country, I called the immigration on Wednesday, since I had a letter from them saying they had not recieved my info yet. After a discussion with someone over the phone I have found out the following information:
* my registered letter MAY be in a pile in Vegraville
* As of the 11th January, Vegraville Case Processing Center, is currently opening mail that they have received on December 1st (mine was MAILED on the 12th December)
* when you change an address over the phone, it does not happen
* being advised to call in another two weeks to see if they have recieved my letter, my call may end up being long distance
And Triangle you may say I told you so.
Again though, my "year" comes up Feb 12th I think, where it "officially" has been a year since I sent in the paperwork to be processed. Maybe I will still be here or maybe I will have been shipped home in a box by the Canadian Immigration Dept.
My last word on this is....
My Dad and Step Mom threw Roanna and I a goodbye party with friends and family before we left. I found it strange that everyone would shake my hand and say "have a great trip" Eventually I found it funny, and pointed out that I was "leaving for good", these people would laugh or shake their head and smile at me/us.
Now I don't find it all that strange.
On a funny note, now last weekend we watched Snatch, one of those Guy Ritchie funny/violent movies. Now I find my self walking around Calgary muttering in a fake Gypsy accent (the one like Brad Pitt had), and I don't know why.......
Keep it safe all
