Good News

Well it seems that these things happen in bunches, I get my Permanant Residence card interview in just over a week. I start my orientation FOR MY JOB!!!! this Wednesday!!! Finally I join the ranks of the employed, give me a couple of months and the banks will be fighting to give me a credit card (or cards). Not to bad I went to a job fair for COSTCO last Friday, and got the call yesterday (Wednesday) with the offer. I chose the early a.m. shift, 5 til' 130, apparently there is lots of opportunity for OT, and cross training in other departments. I took the "merchandicing" position, putting out products on the floor. (If anyone doesn't know, it is warehouse style shopping, also you gotta pay for a card to be a member).

The job is only about a 30 minute walk from our apt, but as soon as the snow is gone, I'll get a pedal bike, then that will be a bit quicker to work. So this should help as well, walk to work for exercise, and bus back in the afternoon.

So that's about it for the news, I figure I'll be at work by next week, but maybe sooner, go in get the walkthrough, fill out the paperwork, and I guess get a start date.

Everyone Keep safe.

Ian

Hey Ian, congratulations! It sounds like you have a big foot in the door! About time you can finally work. You'll be raking in the money because you are a good hard worker (and are dying to catch up on all the wages you missed, hehehehe). Down here we have BJ's and Sam's that sound like the Costco you will be working for. You need the card and shop in large amounts. Amanda and Mike have a BJ's card and said I could get anything I need there but I don't have any room for large purchases of food or paper goods. But you do save a lot on Tv's, electrical items and such. And you got a day shift job! I'm happy for you because most jobs you have to start on second (or even 3rd *ughhhh* and work your way up). Nice and close too! You will save on gas and stay nice and skinny....good luck in your new job Ian and I will check back here often to see how you are getting along....tell Roanna I send my love (and tell her to set up her own blog, hehehe). I have four of them now. Go see my latest one about "Bermuda thoughts." And have you checked my Bermuda webcam lately? I check it all the time just to see what the weather is like. Wish your Momma would get on the stick and do whatever she has to do to get her computer set up....love always aunty PS if you havn't already to visit Uncle. He is over his infections but now he has a new problem. He has shingles on his left and and he is in agony, feels like someone is twisting a knife in his hand. The dr. gave him good painkillers but he said they work for a while then they wear off. Go see him and say hi. I feel so bad because it saeems for the past 6 mos all he has been is sick. He is also worried because he is supposed to come up here in April for his sleep lab and he needs to gather a little money together. He can't work like this. He needs cheering up..love&hugs
