Sunday Afternoon
Hi all,
Sunday has rolled around fairly quickly.
Yesterday we spent the morning at the Foothills hospital taking a class, we figured that breastfeeding might be the way to go, so Roanna is going to give it a try.
We watched a video, listened to the instructor, did a few Q & A's, and got some helpfull pamplets to read and use.
Asside from that we are getting ready for the Art show in two weeks, then we are going to have Roanna's Mom's birthday, the big 60....
So we have been picking up supplies to decorate and trying to decide on a menu and such, pricing foods and platters and things. Hopefully it goes smoothly, unfortunately I have my test that day for the EMR, (class starts next Monday), so I am hoping that everything will be finished by then. The party is in the evening, so I am figuring our a few things to pre-make before the party and class. I have a few recipes from a christmas party magazine, they were big on pre making and freezing pastry deserts, I think I may do a few dozen mini-crab quiches, we have decided on a shrimp and small veggie platter, some chicken and pineapple kabobs, and some sort of beef skewers, probably sweet-soy & seasame, type. I figure those can do those the night before, and heat up at the party.
Anyhoo, asside from that, just taking it easy arranging things for the upcoming event.
Hope everyone has / had a great weekend...

Wednesday Update
Hi all,
Been a busy week this week, shopping, more shopping, washing, visiting etc.
Saturday was shopping day, we went to Zellers in Shawnessy, to look for a changing table, we ended up picking one up. Took a bit of time to get it to the apartment since the box was VERY heavy. Well not to heavy, lets just say it would have ended badly for me if I had taken it upstairs. So we busted open the box in the car and took up bits at a time. As it turned out we had all the bits so nothing was lost in the transfer.
Sunday we went to Roanna's Mum & Dads, we took all of our baby stuff that needed washing ( I REFUSE to wash baby clothes in our buildings machines!! We got someone who works in a garage environment, & sometimes the washer is a bit funky...) So we brought some ivory snow for the baby clothes, and left it at the in-laws, hopefully we can visit and do the kids laundry once or twice a week... we'll see.
Anyhoo, had a little lunch, then came home, popped in a movie and assembled the changing table, only slight angries this time....stupid instructions!!
Now we are waiting for a burst of energy to move about three pieces of furniture, and that should be about that... I think all this hustle and bustle has finally upset Maxine, hopefully with this stopping she should calm down a bit, poor kitty.
Monday we drove to Banff to visit with Mark & Leanne, they were up from Bermuda to have a bit of a skiing vacation, I say a bit, I mean Mark does the skiing.
We wondered around town for a bit before finally deciding to have lunch at Salt Lick, where we go for the Christmas parties. Mark & Leanne hadn't been so it was new for them, both Roanna and I enjoyed it as well, they are a bit cheaper when you eat there for lunch....
Anyhoo, yesterday was back to work for Roanna, not much for me, just tidied up a bit and made a chicken dish for dinner. Watched the Flames lose (boo!!).
Which led up to today, not much, just housekeeping, keeping the litter box clean and some shopping across the streat.
I has warmed up now, though I think it is supposed to hover around the 0 mark for the rest of the week. Since I had to haul up more wood on Sunday to the apt, I am itching to have a bit of a fire. Though as usual in the Apt. after a cold snap, the place is a bit warm for a couple of weeks afterwards.
Anyhoo, everyone take care, I'll post some more pics after I upload them, here is a photo of the glider / ottoman we got last month, from toys-r-us. We brought the glider on sale, waited a week and got the ottoman on sale with money from Roanna's workfriends...

The Monday Angries
Okay,
calming down now, here I thought assembling your unborn babys crib would be a nice little indoor project....
From getting it from the store up to the apt, out of the box, assembled and the boxes thrown away, it has been a bit of an pulse raiser....
But finally, after an hour, it has been assembled, and I guess if i could stop to take pictures, it wasn't that bad of a process.....
With out further ado, and since I haven't posted an assembly project on the blogsite for a while here are some photos...
Coming out of the boxes
Some assembly required
Getting smarter, it would have been a tight fit trying to get it through the door, so I moved the assembly site!!
I think Maxine suspects something!
Fully assembled with the matress placed in it.
Ah well, i had one more photo add but for some strange reason blogger ain't letting me upload it......
I feel my angries coming back on!!!!...........
Have a great week everyone, cause apparently mine is gonna suck.......

Wednesday morning
Hi all,
Well it is cold and grey outside, the high for the rest of the week is supposed to be something like -10C, which isn't that bad....
My Emergency responder class was cancelled on Monday, they are having a hard time finding teachers for the evening classes, so they have reschedualed a full time two week class begining of March.
Let's see what else, Oh Roanna's job had a quick baby shower for her (us) on Friday, they took a collection and we got a nice amount from them. It was quite supprising, Saturday we had to pick up our glider from toys-r-us, and i went to check on the Ottoman, and it was on sale as well. For what ever reason they won't sale both the chair and ottoman at the same time. So we brought the chair on sale two weeks ago, and the ottoman was on sale on saturday, we saved over $160. This weekend we are gonna be looking / buying a crib, and starting to get stuff into the apt. We also have to collect some of the items from friends that have said we get baby stuff from. Also since we are getting closer, gonna get the necessary creams and such, and fill out the bring-to-the-hospital-list-for-mom-and-baby, either keep in the car or by the door for the big day.
Aside from baby things, not much else going on, everyone have a great week.

Cold Friday Morning
Hi all,
Well I guess by the title you must now it is cold, & snowing, seems like winter has finally decided to show us it's head for the weekend. Just when all the Canadian Groundhogs have unamimously said it's gonna be an early spring.
Not much been happening, both Roanna & I have been busy with work & studying, my first class in on Tuesday, just two more chapters to read, and a few more work chapters to fill out.
Aside from that, I finally got my health care card, just in time to get my Nerve Induction Test, yesterday, there was a cancelation, so I was able to finally get it done. A few shocks, a couple of wacks and a few jabs with a pin, and the final result is.... mild nerve damage in my left hand, moderate damage in my right hand. I am supposed to wear the splints for another couple of months at night. 3 to 4 months the Doc. said, nerves take a lot longer to heal apparently.
Roanna went in this week for her doctors visit, she had her blood test earlier in the week, a little more iron in the diet was needed, so she has picked up some pills. This week she starts her movement counts for the baby, though right now, she doesn't have to wait to long before she gets to the required 10 count. The baby is pretty active these last few weeks, though of course when I go to have a feel, it quiets down....
Not much elst to say, so I hope that everyone has a great weekend.
