Quiet Wednesday

Hi all,

It's pretty quiet today, not much to do, not much to say. Last night we had a pretty big hail storm for about 15-20 minutes. There were pretty big pieces (at least the biggist I have seen up close).
The poor kitties were bit frightend! The weather is a bit colder today, with quite a bit of clouds, so I think I'll be indoors for the day.

Keep it safe all.

Good News

They have "recieved" my letter, so processing of my immagration has started again (I hope). This morning I went to Roanna's job and jumped on the scale, two weeks = 10.5 lbs loss. So things are looking good, I hope to keep up the 10 lbs per two weeks until we go to Regina at the end of August. I think I'm gonna get one of those silicone bike seats to make the riding more comfortable. One thing I learned last time was the more weight I loss, the smaller my bum got, and sitting on uncomfortable chairs with no "natural padding" in PAINFULL.

I'll throw in a photo from my Mum-in-law's garden, I was running around using the MACRO setting on my camera, enjoy.

Keep it safe,

Ian

Hi All

Sorry for the long delay in posts, sometimes I forget to update this one!! We have had a very fun week, with Stampede, and the grandparents coming in for visit. We got to go to a pre-garage sale and get some choice items, we had a BBQ on Saturday with the family and played 2 games of Rummoli. Got lots of Mosquito bites, walking back from Stampede, won nothing but "Mardi Gras" type necklaces, tried the famous "mini-doughnuts". Went out to eat Sushi as a "treat", played NTN at Dixon's, found a house that we LOVE, and ended the week visiting everone and having a nice dinner in the garden.
The diet is still going well, feeling lots better now, and will be jumping on the scale tomorrow for the "offical" weigh in. I gotta do it at Roanna's job, that's where I weighed in last.

Still no word from immigration, but I guess on the plus side, we have gotten no letters back from them asking for information updates or corrections.

This is a Macro shot of some flowers in mum-in-law's garden. I didn't write down the names so maybe I'll update them later.

Well hopefully, everyone has a great week.

Keep it safe,

Ian

Hi all, heres an old pic

I found this downstairs, this morning, I think it was back in 1999, they demolished the old Calary Hospital. There were 7 simultanious building implosions, and I think they estimated about 100,000 people came out to watch.
Roanna was living with her best friend April's Condo, which turned out to have a funny story attached to it when it was thought that they were a "couple", since Roanna decided to attend the condo committee meeting with April, while wearing jeans, T-shirt and a leather short vest....... I guess they thought she was the "Butch" type.

Other than that, just relaxing today, and trying not to be grumpy.
Keep it safe all.

No Trans Monday

Well the car is back in the shop to have it's muffler repaired, I'm back home just waiting for the phone call for the "estimate". It will be ready later so I'll just get picked up by the courtesy van later this afternoon and then get Roanna. Been a fairly quiet weekend, went shopping, spent money, cleaned house. I finely got around to baking now, so I made some of the delicious ham and cheese scone from the cooking light magazine yesterday with Roanna's help. Then later that night, around 10ish, I decided that I wasn't gonna sleep so I made some of the low-fat-bran muffins that I used to make when I was loosing weight, I got the recipe from my Nutritionist.
Now I just gotta work on more veggies for lunch, or at least some salad. The hardest thing I found last time when I changed my eating habits, was it was fairly hard to get in all the grains and veggies that you were supposed to eat. I guess my biggest problem is that I don't like things like celery (raw), tomatoes, cucumbers, so I can't really make a salad and load up on that stuff. It's been a week so far, water only, lean(ish) meats, and the ol' staple of grilled mushrooms, onions and peppers (with some olive oil and spices). Yesterday I smoked the veggies and chicken, will some oven grilled asparagus. Not bad, the chicken was quick smoked, so it had a bit more smoke flavor than I liked, but was still good. Still got a piece left so for lunch I think I'll have a salad with onions, peppers and chicken. Gotta get those veggies in.
Well gonna go down to the gym and do some exercise for a bit.
Everyone stay safe.

Ian.

Howdy!

Hi all,
I hope everyone enjoyed thier week, now comes the easier part, the weekend. Today, the Stampede parade started this morning, we watched it for a little bit. Horses, floats, and bands, it was pretty nice, some people had been out to the streets at 430 a.m. to get a good spot. They had a "pre-parade" then the regular parade started later. The pre-parade idea started lately because people are getting there earlier and earlier to find a good spot along the parade route. The rest of the week will be Stampede stuff.
Roanna and I plan to go Sunday, but with the open tickets we got we can change our mind at the last minute if we want.

Any way , eveyone have a great weekend.

Keep it safe.

Here comes Friday

Well,
hopefully everyone made it to the end of the week successfully. Right now I am waiting to be picked up so I can get our car back, it went in to the shop for annual maintenance. Our little knob broke on the temperature select, so that it being replaced, and they are doing something about the stiffness in the control as well. Belive it or not but it has been a little WARM lately.
Other than that, we are planning to visit the Stampede on the weekend, tomorrow is the opening parade, so I will be able to post some new pics of Calgary things.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, for you people in Calgary, I hope it doesn't rain, for the people in Bermuda I hope it does, for those in Florida I hope the hurricane turns around, and for the people in London, my hopes go with you.

Keep it safe all.

Hi All

Well I hope everyone had a good long weekend, ours was very nice, it was great weather almost all the way through, there was a little hicup on the Friday, but it seems great now.

We have converted the basement into a gym, and have all of our exercise stuff down below, the family is having a reunion at the end of August in Regina, so we want to shed a few pounds for the family photo.

Been for a nice long walk down and around Shawnessy, then rested at the Starbucks and had the last coffee for a while. Last time I changed my "dietary habits" I used tea instead, it seemed to work and for what ever reason I did not get that caffine rush I do after drinking tea.

Anywho, got a supprise call from my Dad yesterday, and got caught up in alot of gossip from back home. It was very nice to speak to him, but it sounds like Bermuda is getting a bit more violent since they had an incident during a "booze cruise" party. Ah, well, very sad. An of course the island is currently going through a drought, some hopefully all the rain we had last month will reach Bermuda sometime soon.

So I hope everyone is doing well.

Take Care.

Here's the Mustangs fresh off finishing the trail ride. They are waiting to be taken into the stadium. Posted by Picasa

Here are the Mustangs coming into the Stampede Arena. It took the cowboys (& 1 cowgirl) 6 days to bring them 250 miles. The last trailride they did was in 1985 on the 75th anniversary of Stampede. Posted by Picasa
